He is the founder and/or proprietor of several decorative arts companies, including Rainbow Stained Glass Studio, Robinson Editions, Robinson Archive, Jack Robinson Gallery and Museum, Radio Memphis and Scale Models Unlimited and more.
Dan opened the stained glass studio in 1975, and for 40 years Rainbow Studio has continued to produce stained glass windows and other decorative glass for churches, hospitals, hotels, restaurants and residences across the country.
In the late 70s, photographer Jack Robinson began to work for Rainbow Studio as a designer. To preserve his legacy, Dan founded Jack Robinson Gallery and Archive in downtown Memphis.
Robinson Editions was born from the Robinson Archive. The company specializes in vintage and contemporary Americana photographic images primarily for the hospitality industry across America, but has images from many other countries and genres. They offer paper, canvas, acrylic and brushed aluminum, archival prints. The four-floor 25,000 square foot building in downtown Memphis that houses all of these companies is full of experts ready to consult with clients one-on-one in order to find the best creative solution for any project – from religious windows to architectural models to digitally-composed printed murals.
